  • Role Description:

    StitchWorks is seeking a Development & Marketing Intern to join our small but mighty 501c3 based in Downtown Indianapolis. We aim to provide an enriching experience 2 days per week to promising graduate or undergraduate students interested in marketing, the nonprofit sector, and the fashion industry. This is a unique experience to serve the creative community and develop an interdisciplinary set of skills in nonprofit management, digital marketing, and fashion production. The ideal candidate is creative, service-minded, organized, enjoys being a self-starter, and eager to learn new things. Our Development & Marketing Interns will contribute to our annual fundraising initiatives and community engagement under the leadership of creative economy professionals.

    Areas of Focus:

    MARKETING

    • Content Creation for StitchWorks Social Media (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok)

    • Updating local advertising channels according to community calendar

    • Collaborating with PATTERN Team for cross-marketing

    • Content Creation for StitchWorks Newsletter

    DEVELOPMENT

    • Advancing fashion education in local high school programs

    • Collaborating with StitchWorks Team on community event planning

    • Assisting Development Fellow in grant research and data reporting

    • Supporting community events hosted by StitchWorks

    POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITIES

    • Supporting Production Manager in ongoing Manufacturing Production

    • Collaborating with StitchWorks Team for in-house merchandise

    Recommended Interests:

    Non-Profit Development, Marketing Social Media, Content Creation, Graphic Design, Event and program planning/management, Fashion, Sewing, Survey Collection, Editorial Writing

    Requirements:

    Work 2 days a week, working in-person at the StitchWorks HQ 9:30 AM-3 PM Tuesday and Thursday availability during your semester preferred.

    Have own reliable car, laptop, and smart phone

    Work a total of 12 hours a week, plus some special events. *Some remote hours can be discussed.

    Other Considerations:

    This is an UNPAID internship. The tradeoff is that you’ll receive priceless real-world experience, and your portfolio will be stronger than your peers. Along with work experience and references.

    Priority is given to college students who are rising Juniors and older.
