Basic Construction: Summer Drawstring Bag – Pride Edition 🌈

Get summer-ready with our Basic Construction: Summer Drawstring Bag class—Pride Edition! In this hands-on 5 hour sewing workshop, students will create a stylish and functional drawstring shoulder bag, perfect for festivals, beach days, or everyday use.

The finished bag measures approximately 18" x 9", and strap lengths will be customized to suit each student’s preference. Choose from a variety of solid or patterned fabrics and finish it off with solid or rainbow straps to make it truly your own.

Skills You'll Learn:

• How to follow a pattern (including pattern vocabulary and symbols)

• Fabric measuring and cutting techniques

• Choosing the best fabric for your project

• Operating straight stitch and overlock machines

• Applying interfacing for structure

• Installing grommets for durability and design

Materials:
StitchWorks will provide all fabric and materials needed for this project. However, students are welcome to bring their own fabric if they prefer. Fabric must be woven and is recommended to be mid- to heavy-weight for best results. 2 yard of fabric needed.

PREREQUISITE: Into to Industrial Sewing/Skill 1 required
