Description: Basic Construction: The Sporty Skirt

Join us for this fun and versatile sewing class where you’ll create your very own sporty skirt! Students can choose to make their skirt short or long and select from four classic colors: black, cream, baby pink, or burgundy.

This beginner-friendly project features an elastic waistband with a drawstring and the classic sporty detail of a stripe down the sides for a polished look. Students will be working with jersey fabric, gaining hands-on experience using the serger/overlock machine for most of the construction, as well as learning how to cut fabric and follow a sewing pattern.

This class is a great first project for newer sewists looking to build their skills and a quick, satisfying project for more experienced sewists. By the end of class, you’ll leave with a custom-made skirt you’ll be proud to wear!

FABRIC AND SUPPLIES:

-StitchWorks will proved pattern, fabric, thread, and all equipment needed (SW will have a Black, cream, baby pink and burgundy colored jersey fabric options for this class.)

COURSE DURATION: 5 hours

This class is self passed. Some students may complete project early and are welcome to free sew or leave early

PREREQUISITE: Industrial Sewing, Skill 1 required

LEVEL: Intermediate

MINIMUM AGE: 16
