Advanced Teen Fashion Program - June 19th-June 23, 2023, 9:00am-2:30p
Our one week Advanced Teen Fashion Program is perfect for teens aged 14-19, who have some experience using sewing machines and are interested in building their sewing and construction skills in preparation of entering the fashion industry or simply to gain the valuable skills of making their own clothes. Students will learn the differences between home and industrial sewing, and have the opportunity to show their creativity. Along with application of different tools, accessories and materials used in sewing, students will have the opportunity to use industrial straight stitch machines and sergers, while learning multiple stitch techniques. A total of three projects will be completed, scrunchy, bucket hat or tote, and a final project of teen’s choice. Local fashion designers and industry professionals will visit and give demonstrations throughout the week, including a draping demo and practice. We wrap up the week with a mini fashion photo shoot. Teen will have the chance to model their final creation and will receive photos to share on social media or portfolio.
